This week, we join Specky and Professor V., who work together to determine which products within a Client’s Master Specification are manufactured. This request has been steadily increasing, and seeing as product information is contained in the Specifications, naturally the project team turns to the Specification Writer for assistance. As they dive deeper into the Client’s Masters, it’s determined that many of the Building Product Manufacturers open manufacturing facilities across North America, employing labour forces on both sides of the border. Mainly to leverage factors like lower labour costs, access to raw materials, proximity to markets, and transportation infrastructure, ultimately aiming to reduce costs and improve door-to-door efficiency.
